About the studio

A small studio with a high bar.

Studio Smelt is a B2B video production studio based in Belgium. We work like a trusted extension of your team — clear steps, honest feedback, and work that keeps working long after the shoot wraps.

Our approach

Four ideas we come back to.

01

Start with the point.

We align on what the video must achieve — for the business, for the viewer — before any camera comes out.

02

Make it simple.

Fewer steps, clearer decisions, faster production. Most of our process is removing things that don't help.

03

Keep it collaborative.

You stay close to the work. We handle the craft. Feedback loops are short and written down.

04

Build for reuse.

One shoot can become a whole content system. We plan for cutdowns, social, stills, and next quarter.

Who's behind it

Small enough to move fast. Experienced enough to keep things smooth.

We're a small studio built around a core team and a trusted network of specialists — directors, DPs, editors, motion designers — we've shot, edited and shipped with for years.

That means we can staff up for a two-day shoot or keep it tight for a talking head, without you ever seeing the scaffolding.

Principles

A few things we believe, held loosely.

01

The best briefs come from conversations, not forms.

We'd rather spend 30 minutes on a call than an hour reading a brief. Most projects start with "tell us what you're trying to do."

02

Polish where it matters. Pragmatic everywhere else.

A product demo doesn't need a drone shot. A founder interview doesn't need a three-camera rig. We spend the budget where it's felt.

03

A shoot day should produce a library, not a single video.

We plan every shoot for at least three outputs. Long cut, short cut, social — stills, quotes, and B-roll you can use next quarter.
